Dr. Christian Mueller, Ph.D.
Co-Founder and Scientific Advisor

Dr. Christian Mueller is an expert researcher specializing in gene therapy and animal modeling of rare genetic disorders. Currently, he is a tenured Associate Professor in the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Department of Pediatrics and principal investigator with the Mueller Lab for Gene Therapy at the Horae Gene Therapy Center at UMass Medical School. Dr. Mueller’s research is focused on Adeno-associated virus (AAV)-mediated gene therapy for diseases such as Alpha-1 Antitrypsin deficiency (AATD), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Hermansky Pudlak Syndrome (HPS) and Huntington’s disease (HD). His research has contributed to more than 60 published peer-reviewed academic papers. Christian holds a B.A. from the Florida Institute of Technology, a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Florida College of Medicine and a Master’s in Clinical Investigation from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA.
